CarolynMarieHurst-Beaudoin died peacefully on Saturday, January 14, 2012, at Windsor Meade in Williamsburg after a long and courageous battle with lung disease.
Always a strong and independent woman, Carolyn was born in Coeburn, Virginia, and grew to adulthood in Washington, D.C. After raising her family in Alexandria, Virginia, she had a fascinating career in businesses that regularly interfaced with Washington's international diplomatic community. Upon retirement to Williamsburg she became a world traveler, visiting Russia, China, India, and many other countries in Europe, Africa, and Asia.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents and husbands, William E. Hurst and Harry Beaudoin.
She is survived by her children and their families: Ronald Hurst, his wife, Mary Jean, and their children, Sarah and Peter of Williamsburg; Julie Hurst-Mancuso, her husband, Richard, and their children, Molly and Cira of Stamford, Connecticut; and William Hurst, his wife, Barbara, and their son Chris, of Chantilly.
At Carolyn's request, services will be private. Memorial contributions may be made to Child Development Resources, P.O. Box 280, Norge, VA 23127 or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
