Alice Cook Haskett passed away on June 9, 2012 after a three year battle with cancer. Alice was the widow of Virginia State Police Sgt., David R. Haskett. She was preceded in death by her parents, Leonard and Beulah Cook and sister, Myrtle Adams. She is survived by her loving and devoted daughter and best friend, Betty Grubbs of Sandston, VA; her loving and devoted niece, Linda Rose and husband, Jeffrie Rose of Highland Springs, and a god-child, Alisa Major and husband, Brian Major, Sr. and family. Also survived by devoted friends, Libbie Morris and family, "Her boy", Alvie Morris, Jr., Paula and Archie Crowe, Charlotte Brooks, David Mehford and Norma Mills.
Alice was retired from The American Tobacco Co. with 39 years, 9 months of service. She was loved by many and will be greatly missed.
The family will receive friends Monday, June 11, 2012 and Tuesday, June 12, 2012 from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8PM at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Avenue, Richmond, VA 23231. A service will be held at the same location Wednesday, June 13, 2012 at 11AM. Interment will be at Washington Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 4240 Park Place Court, Glen Allen, VA 23060.
