James Murrell LaFoon, 67, of New Kent, passed away on Friday, February 3, 2012. He was preceded in death by his parents, Evelyn Delarue LaFoon Winston and Harold LaFoon; as well as his daughter, Kathleen Michelle LaFoon. He is survived by his wife of 33 years Jacqueline Kahn LaFoon; daughters, Alison LaFoon Lewis and Charlotte LaFoon Strom (Wesley Strom); and two beloved grandchildren, Parker Strom and Emily Strom. He also leaves behind his sister, Marie LaFoon Cassell (Frank Cassell); and brother, Lewis "Buck" LaFoon (Peggy LaFoon) along with numerous nieces and nephews. He was a devoted employee of Bank of America for 49 plus years as well as an active member of Corinth United Methodist Church. Murrell also served in the Army Guard Reserve of Sandston. Murrell loved his family and the beach. His T.V. remote and recliner will miss him dearly. Family will receive friends on Sunday, February 5, 2012 from 2 to 6 p.m. at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Avenue, Richmond, VA. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, February 6, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Corinth United Methodist Church, 23 W. Williamsburg Road, Sandston, VA 23150. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Corinth United Methodist Church Memorial Fund, 23 W. Williamsburg Road, Sandston,VA 23150 or the American Heart Association, 4217 Park Place Court, Glen Allen, VA 23060.
