Pauline “Polly” O’Brien, 91, of Williamsburg, passed away on February 2, 2010. She was born in Richmond on December 20, 1918, to Pat and Bertha Sims.
Polly was a member of St. Olaf Catholic Church. She graduated from St. Gertrude High School in 1937, and attended Smithdeal-Massey business school. She lived in Richmond, VA until 1972, when she moved to Montgomery, AL, where she enjoyed playing Bridge and Canasta with her friends. In 1998, she returned to Williamsburg, VA to be closer to her grandchildren and family.
She is survived by her loving husband of 68 years, Bob O’Brien; children, Robert Joseph O’Brien, Jr. and wife, Bessie, of NC, Dr. James Patrick O’Brien and wife, Mary Louise, of Norfolk, VA, Kathleen O’Brien Everett and husband, Donald, of Richmond, VA, Patricia O’Brien Easterling of Reno, NV, and Margaret Elaine O’Brien of Williamsburg, VA. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Ray Easterling, Michael Everett, Sara Everett Stamp, Rachel Easterling Ragan, Christopher O’Brien, Andrew O’Brien, and Marquis O’Brien; and nine great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, February 8, 2010 at 10:00 AM at St. Olaf Catholic Church, 104 Norge Lane, Williamsburg, VA 23188.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Olaf’s Building Fund, St. Olaf Catholic Church.
